Whether you’re a local resident or just passing by, be sure to stop at one of these fun attractions soon.

Potter Park Zoo

This charming zoo features over 100 species of animals, including red pandas, bald eagles, a reptile house, and even Siberian tigers. It’s small enough to be walkable and enjoyable for families with young children, but big enough to keep you occupied for a casual day-long visit.

R.E. Olds Transportation Museum

As car buffs ourselves, it probably comes as no surprise that this automotive museum is one of our favorite spots in Lansing. You’ll find everything from old REO vehicles out of Lansing to bicycles to trucks. You’ll get plenty of background information on the history of automotives here while you check out a beautiful collection of antique machines.

River Trail

If you’ve been traveling and need a chance to stretch your legs, the Lansing River Trail is a lovely place to do it. This 13-mile paved trail runs through Crego Park and along the Red Cedar River and offers up plenty of beautiful scenery along the way. It’s a great resource for locals to exercise and explore the city, and a great place for tourists to stop and do some exploring themselves.

Chrysler’s $1 Billion Investment to Create 2,000 Jobs

Car Assembly Plant

Automakers have been making major investments in American manufacturing following the 2016 President Election and Chrysler isn’t about to be left out. The manufacturer announced that it would spend $1 billion to update plants in Michigan and Ohio. The announcement of Chrysler’s $1 billion investment comes with confirmation of several new vehicles in the brand lineups as well.

Fiat Chrysler’s manufacturing plant in Warren, Michigan will see modernization across the board as well as the capability to produce a full-size pickup. The Michigan plant will also produce other large vehicles, such as the returning Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.

As for Ohio, the Toledo Jeep plant will see a plethora of new equipment that will allow it to create the recently-announced Wrangler pickup.

The investment will bring 2,000 new jobs to Warren and Toledo as well as the surrounding areas.

Renewed confidence in the American automotive market comes with the increase in demand for trucks, crossovers, and SUVs. The investment comes as a major step towards adding two new large SUVs and a pickup to the Jeep lineup.

The automaker officially announced the return of all three vehicles at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.

We here at Slingerland CDJR Fiat are happy to see such a large investment in United States manufacturing!
