2017 Chrysler Pacifica Fuel Economy Exceeds Expectations

2017 Chrysler Pacifica Fuel Economy

When Fiat Chrysler announced that they were producing a hybrid minivan, people got excited. Fuel economy and family-friendly space? You can’t get much better than that—especially since this would be the first-ever mass-produced hybrid minivan.

Originally, the Italian-American carmaker estimated that the hybrid minivan would achieve 80 MPGe combined, but it looks like the company was wrong. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica fuel economy instead received an EPA-estimated combined 84 MPGe, making it by far the most fuel-efficient minivan ever.

“At 84 MPGe, the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid surpasses our initially stated performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, FCA US Head of Passenger Car Brands. “These EPA test results paint a clear picture of the benefits our customers can expect from driving the most fuel-efficient minivan ever.”

Along with this incredible fuel-efficiency rating, the EPA also gave the Pacifica Hybrid a total driving range of 566 miles and an electric-only range of 33 miles. Finally, the all-new minivan also received a Green Vehicle Guide rating from the EPA of 10, which is the highest possible score.

The Pacifica Hybrid combines a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery with an electric motor and the brand’s popular 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine for power. The battery pack can be recharged within two hours using a 240-volt charger and 14 hours with a 120-volt charger.
